Welcome to the International School of Tanganyika’s ES Library blog. Here you will find what’s happening in classes in the library and in the library in general. Please check back often and feel free to leave us a message with your ideas, links and good thoughts. Asante!
Grade 1 has been looking at the responsibilities people have to keep their communities safe and happy. As part of that, Grade 1 classes read Library Lion, by Michelle Knudsen, with Ms Karen in their recent library sessions.
The lion in the book helps everyone in the library.
We talked about how we keep the library safe and happy. Among the many suggestions were:
- Treat the books nicely.
- Turn the pages slowly.
- Keep books in a library bag.
- Keep the books dry.
- Use a soft voice.
- Be kind in the library.
The first graders then made signs for the library, with silly, opposite pictures.
Here’s a sign saying, “Please step on the floor in the library” with a lion stepping all over our cushions.
We laughed at the drawings and thought even more about keeping ourselves and the library safe and happy.
