Strong Emotions and Our Brains, in Grade 3

When we experience a strong emotion, it is difficult to think. The thinking part of our brain switches off when our feelings take over. Last term, grade 3 students talked about what their brains felt like when they experienced a strong emotion.

We made play-dough models of what our brains feel like. Check out the pictures!

“My brain feels like it is crying” 3R student

“My brain feels like it is trapped” 3W student

“My brain feels like a treadmill going too fast and I am going to fall off the edge” 3B student

“My brain feels like an ice-cream melting” 3H student

“My brain feels like a volcano/bomb exploding” Lots of students!
