Grade Four Make Self Portraits

Grades Four have been drawing self-portraits with color pencils. Mr. Kasanga, who is very good at making portraits, showed us how he draws people. We looked in the mirrors to help us decide where the eyes, nose and mouth are placed on our faces. It was very hard but we learned that there are techniques that we can use to help us place our features. We found that we all kind of look the same but we can make our portraits individual and make them look like ourselves by changing the shape of the face or nose a little bit, adding hair and eye color to match us and of course our individual hair styles!

Clay Sculptures by the Grade Two

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Grade Two classes made colorful sculptures with clay. They first drew 3D shapes like cubes, spheres, cones and cylinders on paper. The challenge then was to make these shapes into 3D shapes. We practiced making these shapes with play dough first.

Making these with clay was a little bit easier after that. The next challenge was to make a sculpture with all these shapes and adding texture to them after putting it together.

The last step was to paint them. We are sure you will love our beautiful sculptures.
